The team on the top of the bracket will wear white (home); the bottom team will wear their darks (visitor). Benches & locker rooms will be assigned to each team.

Game Procedures is as follows:

The games will be played under NFHS rules with WIAA adaptations. Each game will comprise of a 7 minute warm-up followed by 3---15 minute periods. The ice will be resurfaced after every 2 periods of play. The 7 minute warm-up period will start at the scheduled time of the 1st game of the day. The teams will play 2---15 minute periods & then go to their locker rooms. After the resurface, the teams will play their 3rd period. After the ice and benches are cleared, the 7 minute warm-up will start for the 2nd game. After their warm-up, the teams will play their 1st period & then the ice will be resurfaced. The 2 teams will come out and play their 2 periods. The ice will then be resurfaced & the next game’s warm-up will start.

Coaches: It would be really helpful if you appoint 3 of your players help pick up the pucks after each warm-up. The referees will move the nets for the resurface.

If the game is tied at the end of regulation, there will be an 8 minute sudden death overtime in which the teams will play 4 on 4. If the game is still tied, there will be a shoot-out as each team’s coach will select 3 shooters.  If it is still tied after 3 shooters, there will be a sudden-death shoot-out.  If one shooter makes it and the other one doesn’t, the shoot-out is over. If both shooters make it, another pair goes until a winner is determined. The original 3 shooters from a team cannot participate in the sudden death shoot-out until all other eligible players have been used. If a player receives a game disqualification in the 1st game, he has sit out the 2nd game. If a player is still in the penalty box at the end of overtime, he can’t be used as one of his team’s original three shooters.
